Born in Moscow and raised in Australia, Andrey Lebedev is one of the most successful young guitarists of his generation. Having studied at the Australian National University in Canberra, he completed his postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music. He has collaborated with Julian Bream and John Wlliams, given premieres of Birtwistle and Brouwer and last year was featured artist in the Canberra International Music Festival. In this recital, Andrey performs music that ranges from early lute music through the classic works by Villa Lobos to music by the 21st Century Cuban virtuoso guitarist and composer Leo Brouwer.
